Our History

A+FAMILIAS was established in November 2020 in response to the unprecedented popular demand that, since March 2020, has reflected the social emergency resulting from the confinement due to COVID19. We help more than 2100 families with almost €300,000 worth of shopping baskets and Carrefour cards.

In November 2020 we were founded as A+FAMILIAS. We hired our first three members of professional staff in March 2021. By September 2021 we had total of 5 employees, two full-time volunteers and three internships (students in social work, psychology and communication who support the team). Since then, we have helped 300 families with 1405 Carrefour and Visa social la Caixa cards, representing a total amount of more than €160,000.

In September 2021 we optimized the definition of our strategy. Having reflected deeply on how we need to develop, we intend to continue advancing in this process of professionalization. We are seeking to make the project sustainable and we are exploring ways of making it scalable.

CITIZEN SOLIDARITY WAS EXTENDING AND SEVERAL SOLIDARITY CHALLENGES WERE OPENED THROUGH IHELP, WHERE IT DEVELOPED INTO A VOUCHER AND GIFT CARD SYSTEM.

The objective of this change is to promote the autonomy of families, who in this way can go to the supermarket and select the products they really need.
This project, in continuity with the work carried out previously, aims to support a smaller number of families by reinforcing their accompaniment and follow-up.
